Defining Your Organizations MVP

March 13, 2010

By clearly defining some areas of your ministry it will help you determine what you do and what you don’t do.

(Here’s the short version)

Mission
  – The Purpose – Does your church have a mission statement. Something that defines it’s mission in the community. Why it exists
Vision  – The Picture – Does your church have a long-term vision [...]

Let’s get formal for a moment…Copyrights (©) give exclusive privileges to reproduce, perform, or display a literary or artistic creation or its derivatives. Trademarks (TM) are distinctive mottos or emblems that are identified with a specific product.
How do copyrights and trademarks affect you?

Verge 2010: Francis Chan (excerpts)

February 4, 2010

Here’s some highlights from Francis Chan at Verge 2010. The excerpts are taken from a transcription by Jon McIntosh
“Exodus 33:13 If God’s presence doesn’t go with us – then we won’t go. Is there anything else we want in life besides the presence of the Lord?”
“My motives in ministry have not been pure. “I want [...]

My quick thoughts on Leno and Conan

January 23, 2010

I didn’t watch either guy much. But the diff I saw was that on Jays show he was a fan of his guests. On Conan, the guests were vehicles and springboards for Conans unfunny antics.
Good luck to both. They bring their own brand of humor to the world.

Apple Tablet Ads from the 80’s-Before Internet and Google

January 11, 2010

Here’s a couple of interesting videos I found some time ago and thought I’d repost. With all the rumors going around about Apple’s new device, I find it extremely interesting. The Ads were created before Google and the Internet, while we’re not quite there yet, it’s very fascinating.http://bit.ly/781r1N

Family Fun Time!

December 30, 2009

About to start a rip-roaring game of Stackable Uno with the family. My kids absolutely love it, including my 4 year old. We let her freestyle a bit and not have to obey all the rules, but it’s still a ton of fun. Way better then staring at a screen of even video games.

To blog or not to blog

November 22, 2009

I’m still trying to figure out whether I will blog or simply rely on social media destinations like Facebook or micro blogging places like Tumblr or macro blogging like Twitter (or is macro and micro the other way around?) Anyway, I love sharing thoughts and engaging in interesting conversations, but I just don’t know if [...]

Ed Ulbrich shows how Benjamin Button got his face | Video on TED.com

March 5, 2009

I haven’t seen the movie “…Benjamin Button” but this looks absolutely fascinating. I wonder what the “next level” is? I saw previews of Beowulf and it looked fake in too many places to not be distracting. I don’t recall whether the movie was very successful.
What about the uncanny valley? Are we there yet? Can we [...]

Deep Thinkin’

December 30, 2008

I really think 2K9 is really going to be one of those years where change happens. Not because it was a campaign slogan or the mantra of the new prez, but because 2007-2008 has really shaken some foundations and we’re all having to stop and do some deep thinkin’

File Dropper: Quick and Easy File Sharing

December 27, 2008

Box.net is a pretty well-done online file storage, but FileDropper is another alternative that makes hosting files online much simplier. The main reason why FileDropper was created is because the folks there didn’t want users to wait for those irritating countdown timers in Megaupload and RapidShare.
